My Breastfeeding Badges of Honor

All dressed up with no place to go

Here are a few pics just to give you an idea of how big our "Tiny" is getting.

The blue outfit with puppies on it (yes, those are puppies) was to be his "Coming Home" outfit. My cousin Sam bought it for him in keeping with the tradition she had set in buying both Gavin and Elliott Richard's "Coming Home" outfits. Only Mr. Emmett John was too small and the weather too hot for him to wear it. :( And now, of course, he's nearly outgrown it. :(

It only took me like a week and a half and 30 quick capture pictures to catch it...but here it is! :) lol

Binkie Baby

Okay, so this isn't a "Binkie Baby" photo. But look at that expression...it's just too cute to resist.

(Notice the sleeping twins in the upper right corner.)

Oh what a difference...

2 hours of sleep makes. I am thrilled to say I got FOUR HOURS of sleep (albeit non-consecutive hours) last night!! It's amazing how two extra...nay additional hours of sleep can fool your body into feeling like you got eight hours. lol

Now we're on our way to a local flea market/farmers' market to pick up some fruit for my dairy-free diet. Even though I'm only supposed to avoid the major milk products (milk, ice cream, yogurt etc.) it still makes meals a little more difficult. So it'll be nice to have a few more options for sides and snacks.

I figure about the time we get home my body will realize I didn't actually have eight hours of sleep. Then I'll crash and burn. lol

***Update***
We came. We saw. We bought gobs of fruit and I'm in Heaven. Elliott Richard is napping. (We wore him out and he didn't even have to walk. lol) Emmett John is in his swing. (I've probably just jinxed myself by telling you that.) Rob is on the phone. (Don't ask.) And I am eating lunch with lots of fruit. (Yum.)

As predicted, my body is slowly figuring out I only got 4 hours of sleep. And I think after my belly is full my brain and body are going to slip into a food coma.

***PS Be sure to take note that Emmett John is smiling in his picture! Not his full on grin mind you but at least I caught his sneaky grin. :) Whereas Elliott Richard was less than thrilled with me for taking his picture. lol

6 weeks old

What Tiny's up to this week: Has your baby smiled at you yet? If not, he will soon. At 6 weeks, about half of all babies can recognize their parents, and many of those babies are so delighted that they welcome Mom or Dad with an excited, gurgly grin. This is one of the first signs that your baby is developing an ability to socialize. In fact, it's called a "social smile," and it's one of the more emotionally gratifying milestones you'll see your baby reach.

Well, here we are working our way through Week 6 already. I can't believe my Tiny has been here for a month and a half already. Already it's harder to remember life before Emmett John. The memories of labor and delivery are fading fast too. (Memories or not, we will *not* be having any repeat performances. Ever. lol) We had our first smile in Week 5. I can't wait to see the next big milestone.

Update on our little slice of Insanity

Dr. H's office called us back. And I'm thrilled to have two pieces of good news (for once)...

First, Emmett John's ultrasound of his hips came back as perfect! Yay! He does not have hip dysplasia!

Second, Dr. H over-ruled Dr. M's no milk and soy protiens order! Yippee! I am now back to my "no main milk products" order, which is much easier to live with.

Status Quo

The "morning" sickness that used to take place off and on throughout the day has now taken over my life. It is not "morning sickness" whoever gave it that name LIED! It is all day sickness. I am absolutely miserable. I have yet to find a food that truly sounds appealling. Every food has it's moment, and I do mean moment, where it sounds good and in the next moment the mere thought of it is enough to make me green. Bananas have become my only friend. Bananas and Ginger Ale. I just discovered the bananas a few hours ago but I know I will be eating them for the next 8-9 months. Fruit salad is sitting okay too. (Thank God!) It's been torture to be so hungry and unable to eat anything.

Finally! What you've all been waiting for...

Thursday November 29th we had our first ultrasound and first glimpse of our little ball of fluff! I was RIGHT by the way, there is only ONE little ball of fluff in there! SO HA! :p lol We took Elliott and he was sleepy and kind of zoned out. She found our little ball of fluff and we even got to see the tiny, little heart beating. It was amazing! Then she let us hear it. Bump bump bump at 115 beats/minute. That miracle never gets old. I measured right on for 6 weeks 1 day, which makes my due date officially July 23, 2008. Here's the picture...granted there isn't much to see right now but you just wait until March/April. :)

More Crazy Pregnancy Dreams

8:37:00 PM Posted In , , Edit This 0 Comments »
Well if nothing else, the pregnancy dreams are entertaining. lol

I had a dream a few nights ago that Rob and I were having twins, one boy and one girl. Only I wasn't pregnant with them. We were using a surrogate. Then once they were born we named the boy Timothy (already taken by Rob's brother lol) and I can't remember what we named the girl. Then we gave them my maiden name as a last name.

See what happens when y'all keep pushing this twins thing? It starts messing with my dreams! Lord knows, my dreams are messed up enough on their own. lol

1st Appointment

I had my first official pregnancy appointment yesterday. I thought it was just to look at my neck (it's all screwy right now but slowly getting better) but they decided to do everything while I was there. Nothing much to report. Weight: 150 lb. Blood pressure: perfect. I still have to have my ten vials of blood work done. And of course my first ultrasound is tomorrow at 2pm! :) Yippee!

I'll post more tomorrow after the ultrasound.

Ah...true love...
